Tetsuya Higashiyama
Tetsuya Higashiyama, Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo, Japan started his current work on live-cell analysis of plant reproduction at the University of Tokyo where he also obtained his PhD in 1999. After working in the same department as an assistant professor for several years, he moved to Nagoya University as a full professor in 2007. He and colleagues launched a new interdisciplinary and international institute, ITbM, in Nagoya University for true mixture of biologists and synthetic chemists. After having two affiliations at Nagoya University and the University of Tokyo for three years, he fully returned to the University of Tokyo in 2022. He is now directing an International Leading Research “Key-Molecule-Network in Plant Reproduction”, with other 9 PIs in Japan and more than 20 PIs in Europe.
